Eli’s Story...
Eli Silverman was just 19 years old- a healthy, athletic, vibrant student at the University of Florida. One ordinary day, after playing recreational sports, he passed away without warning.
No symptoms.
No underlying conditions.
No second chance. . .No last hug to say goodbye.
Eli’s family refused to let his story end there. Together with physicians and advocates, they founded the Eli’s Lasting Impact (ELI) Foundation with one clear mission:

To lead a national movement to end Sudden Cardiac Death.

The Crisis We Face...
Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is devastatingly common
It is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S.
It often strikes without symptoms, without warning
It impacts every age group — but our youth are the most vulnerable
Thousands of young people and hundreds of thousands of adults are lost every year
The most tragic part?
Most of these deaths are preventable!

Our Approach:
We believe the fight against SCD starts with youth — where early detection and intervention can save the most vulnerable lives — but this mission extends to every generation. For that reason we have chosen the Memorial Foundation/Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Broward County to partner with us in this noble mission.
Through science, advocacy, and community action, ELI’s Project is creating a comprehensive model that can be scaled nationwide:
1. Measure What Matters | Tabulate and validate regional SCD statistics to reveal the real impact.
2. Prevent Where We Can | Implement multi-pronged modern screening, education, and voluntary treatment programs for at-risk youth and adults.
3. Raise Awareness, Raise Hope | Drive national campaigns to educate families, schools, workplaces, and communities while mobilizing funding for life-saving initiatives.
4. Prove It Works | Track every life saved and publish data in peer-reviewed journals to set a new national standard.
5. Lead a National Movement | Turn our regional success into a replicable model that communities across America can adopt.
Why It Matters to Everyone
While Eli’s story begins with youth, Sudden Cardiac Death does not discriminate by age. It takes sons, daughters, parents, friends, and colleagues — often without warning. Your support has a dual impact:
Protecting our most vulnerable youth, where prevention begins. Extending modern, proven, life-saving protocols to everyone.
This is a movement to protect every heart!
